MIAMI - Aug. 12, 2014 - PRLog -- The Georgia based social enterprise and JHF will be collecting personal care items, new and gently used children and teen clothing on Saturday, August 23rd, at 3 South Florida locations.  These items will be cataloged, cleaned and arranged in a boutique setting so homeless youths can enjoy the experience of shopping for well needed clothes and personal items without the stigma normally attached to living homeless in America.

BCG Founder, Jasmin Crowe related, “In a survey conducted among several homeless teens and homeless families living in both Atlanta, GA and Los Angeles, CA, many spoke of always receiving donations in garbage bags or grocery bags. Though grateful, it made them feel hopeless and unwanted. After careful consideration, our board members asked, how cool would it be if we could give these families and kids a real shopping experience, where items were not thrown on tables or in trash bags, but actually hung up, color coordinated, washed and even new?” Crowe continued, “The “Giving Boutique” provides a homeless shopping experience that is unparalleled to anything these families have ever experienced before.”

At the 2014 Miami Giving Event, which will take place from 10am to 2pm on Saturday, September 20th, families will shop in a pop-up boutique hosted at the Miami Rescue Mission, 2159 NW 1st Court, Miami 33127. The boutique will boast many amenities including: cupcakes, beverages, and friendly celebrity sales staff, fitting rooms, furniture and the total overall boutique shopping experience. While youth and their families shop they will enjoy live music, food bites and will be provided with tons of goodies and surprises. Last year the boutique travelled to five cities serving over 2000 homeless. This year they will visit Atlanta, GA, Miami, FL, Houston, TX, Chicago, IL and Los Angeles, CA with an ultimate goal of serving 3,000 or more young people.

Collections for the Miami Giving Event will be held on Saturday, Aug 23rd:

“When people think of Joshua’s Heart, they normally think food, but as I grow and the foundation develops our service will continue to evolve to best serve the needs of our communities,” said Joshua Williams. He added, “Although the mission to eliminate hunger remains our primary goal, neglecting the other needs of our beneficiaries is not an option. We are glad to partner with Black Celebrity Giving in an effort to take our service to the next level. This will be a great start to the holiday season for many of South Florida homeless youths and families.”

"I have long admired the work of Joshua's Heart Foundation, when I selected south Florida as a location for the 2nd Annual Giving Boutique there was no one higher on my list of partners than Joshua's Heart. I am excited to serve homeless youth and their families alongside such a stellar organization." ~ Jasmine Crowe, Founder of BCG
