Follow on Google News | What can you get for Rs 750? A film to watchThe Akshaya Patra Foundation is releasing its second film of the ongoing campaign #HungryForSchool on 21st August, 2014.
By: The Akshaya Patra Foundation The film is a string of shots sewed seamlessly covering hubs, hangouts, stores, stations, spa, home etc., trying to figure out what people 'could or would' do with Rs.750. It features the general urban tribe with which we can find our reflection at one point or another. It scans over a range of things they can get with that amount. As we approach closure the amount appears insignificant. But, a pleasant surprise awaits at the end. The amount can feed a child for an entire academic year ensuring him or her, the nutrition required to pursue education. "This film is part of the #HungryForSchool awareness campaign. It sends a social message about the worth of Rs.750 and what it can do to change the life of a child in need. That is the cost to feed a child for an entire year!" said Shridhar Venkat, CEO, The Akshaya Patra Foundation. The Akshaya Patra Foundation is a not-for-profit organisation that implements mid-day meal programme in over 10,000 Government and Government aided schools across India. The kitchens of Akshaya Patra are spread over 23 locations across 10 States in India, reaching 1.4 million children with a hearty meal every school day. The film is available on the link: https://www.youtube.com/ Akshaya Patra works in a public-private partnership with the Government of India and several State Governments in the country.
