2015 Honda Fit Receives 2014 Top Safety Pick Rating from the IIHSThe Fit sits at the top of its class as no other vehicle in the subcompact category has earned a higher rating.
In order to be designated as a Top Safety Pick vehicle, this Honda subcompact model needed to receive a “Good” rating four of the IIHS crash tests, in addition to earning an “Acceptable” Originally tested in March, the 2015 Honda Fit earned a “Good” rating in four of the five crash tests. However, it received a “Marginal” Art St. Cyr, vice president of auto operations at American Honda, said they were “...not satisfied with anything but a Top Safety Pick for the new 2015 Honda Fit...” which demonstrates the manufacturer’ St. Cyr also added that while there was no requirement for Honda to change the design of the front bumper it keeps with “...Honda’ Further enhancing driver and passenger safety is the Advanced Compatibility Engineering body structure that the new Fit utilizes. The strengthened body structure allows for improved frontal crash energy and helps limit the amount of force delivered in an accident. Other standard safety features include side curtain airbags with rollover sensor, Honda LaneWatch, hill start assist, and a multi-angle rearview camera.
