West Virginia approves Body Art Training Group's Exposure Control Training Course

Body piercing technicians working in West Virginia can meet state exposure control training requirements by taking an online course offered by the Body Art Training Group.

WHEELING, W.Va. - Sept. 6, 2014 - PRLog -- The West Virginia Department of Health and Human Resources has approved the Body Art Training Group’s online course “Bloodborne Pathogens and Infection Control for Body Art Professionals (BATG001)”.

This course will be accepted as meeting the requirements of Section 9 Exposure Control Training Requirements of Title 64 Legislative Rule, Series 80 Body Piercing Studio Business. Individuals registering in West Virginia as a Body Piercing Technician may use their certificate of completion of this course as verification of meeting the Exposure Control Training Requirements of this rule.

To take this online course training, West Virginia body piercing technicians can visit the Your Training Place website and take "Bloodborne Pathogens and Infection Control for Body Art Professionals (BATG001)."

"Bloodborne Pathogens and Infection Control for Body Art Professionals" is a narrated course that has five sections: OSHA; Pathogens and Communicable Diseases; Chain of Infection; Exposure Control Plans; and Methods of Compliance.

This course also complies with the initial and annual bloodborne pathogens training requirements of OSHA's Bloodborne Pathogens Standard 29 CFR 1910.1030. After successful completion of this course, a Certificate of Completion can be printed.
