Vapor Ricon Supports Two Men with One Dream

Sept. 9, 2014 - PRLog -- Thirty years ago two patients at Hexham Spinal Injuries Unit had a dream. Life took them on different paths until earlier this year when those paths crossed once again reminding of their dream thirty years ago – to take a road trip together!

Fast forward a few months and Dave Burdus and Carl Brunning have now completed their John O’Groats to Lands End trip on Mad Max Style 1150 cc Wheelchair Trikes with the support of a Vapor Ricon vehicle to provide much needed road side assistance.

“We are very pleased to be able to offer our support and assistance to Dave and Carl as they take on this amazing challenge,” commented Mike Dickinson sales and marketing manager Vapor Ricon. “They will certainly create a real spectacle as they traverse the country and we wish them every success in their personal and fund raising challenge.”

Dave and Carl are raising money for the Percy Hedley foundation which provides services for disabled children and adults in the North East. As ambassadors of the Department for Work and Pensions ‘Disability Confident’ Campaign they will also be promoting positivity and partnership and shattering stereotypes.

“We have had some fantastic support so far and are delighted that Vapor Ricon are loaning us one of their vans which is fully equipped with an easily accessible ramp,” said Dave Burdus. “Carl and I have enjoyed the last thirty years since fate intervened and are thrilled that we are finally able to undertake the road trip that we dreamed of calling at Hexham hospital where we first met. Who knows what we’ll do next?!”
