New York Youth Symphony Welcomes a New Marketing and Development Manager!

NEW YORK - Sept. 9, 2014 - PRLog -- Joseph Duong previously served as Marketing and Communications Manager for Opera San Jose. In making the announcement, Shauna Quill, Executive Director of NYYS said, “I’m delighted to have Joseph join our organization. Joseph will be working on marketing and development initiatives for the NYYS – both are which are critical this season as we embark upon our first international tour. Joseph brings energy and experience with a great creative perspective to the organization, and we are thrilled to have him join our team.”

Mr. Duong said, “I’m excited to be able to work with such an important and prestigious organization. I look forward to working with the students to make a difference. Having played in an orchestra as a youth, I know how important an organization such as the New York Youth Symphony can be to young musicians. I am honored for the opportunity and I look forward to working with the trustees, musicians, and staff.”

As marketing communications manager at Opera San Jose, Mr. Duong helped increase season subscriptions, strengthened donor relationships, developed new audiences and increased corporate partnerships with companies such as Google, Apple, eBay and Oracle.

Mr. Duong holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree in Communications from the University of California State, Fullerton and studied at Oxford Brookes University, UK.
