Follow on Google News | The Future of Health Care in Ventura County: Focus of VCEDA 44th Annual Business Outlook Conference.The Future of Health Care in Ventura County: A Healthy Workforce” is the theme of the 44th Annual Business Outlook Conference (BOC) presented by the Ventura County Economic Development Association (VCEDA).
By: Ventura County Economic Development Association Keynote speaker is Dr. Harlan Levine, chief executive of the City of Hope Medical Foundation. Levine oversees the ambulatory and outpatient practices of City of Hope’s main campus and its community clinics. Levine’s topic is “How Health Care Reform Impacts the Care You Receive.” The BOC will also feature a panel of representatives with expertise in insurance, managed care, wellness and big data. Panelists include Gary Wilde, president and CEO, Community Memorial Health System, Michael Carter, executive director, Hospital/Health Plan, Kaiser Permanente Woodland Hills, Leanne Seeger, vice-president, employee benefits, HUB International Insurance Services and Greg Van Ness, CEO,Tolman & Wiker Insurance Services. The panelists will discuss health care delivery systems, health care insurance, technology’s impact on medical care, the future cost of health care and wellness. Moderating the panel and BOC emcee is Henry Dubroff, editor of the Pacific Coast Business Times. “Ten months ago, when we first began planning VCEDA’s 2014 Business Outlook Conference, we looked at a number of hot topics but kept coming back to health care,” says Ellen Brown VCEDA board chair and regional manager of Volt Workforce Solutions. “Our goal of the conference is to educate the audience so that when they leave, they will have a better understanding of how healthcare is changing and how it will affect individuals, families, communities and employers.” Title sponsor is Dignity Health St. John’s Hospitals.
