By: JTM Food Group New offerings available to attendees at FNCE include clean-label, Steel Cut Oatmeal with Brown Sugar, a Mediterranean Style Hummus, as well as an innovative new allergen free, clean-label beef patty that utilizes a blend of ground beef and mushrooms, in addition to isolated plum fiber from Sunsweet® Ingredients that eliminates the need for caramel coloring, and increases the moisture in the product. “Using the innovative blend of the plum derived ingredients and the mushrooms has positive nutritional and business benefits,” said Tracy Boggs, RD, Director of National Healthcare Sales for JTM. “The plum ingredients help the products maintain moisture, and they replace traditional ingredients like caramel coloring and phosphates. They are also competitively priced compared to artificial ingredients and allow for increased shelf life.” And, the mushrooms really enhance the flavor of the beef patty, they help keep the calories down, and they naturally reduce the fat and sodium levels of the product.
