Oberon Inc. Compatibility Statement for Cisco Aironet 1700 Series

A wide variety of secure, convenient, aesthetic mounting solutions are available for use with Cisco's recently announced wireless access points.

STATE COLLEGE, Pa. - Oct. 16, 2014 - PRLog -- Oberon, Inc., a leading designer and manufacturer of secure wireless and telecom enclosure, has released a statement regarding compatibility of enclosures with the recently announced Cisco Aironet 1700 Series wireless access points.

The Cisco Aironet 1700 has the same footprint as the Aironet 2700, 3500, 3600, and 3700 wireless access points.  Oberon customers using these Cisco products can easily secure the Aironet 2700 WAP in existing Oberon enclosures.

“Cisco has positioned the entry-level Cisco Aironet 1700 Series Access Points as an entry-level wireless AP for small to midsize businesses,” explained Oberon President Scott D. Thompson.  “Oberon enclosures protect wireless equipment vital to the operation of these businesses, while simplifying moves, adds, and changes in what are often high-traffic, busy areas.”

Among the compatible enclosures is one of Oberon’s most popular suspended ceiling tile enclosures, the 1064-00.  This locking suspended ceiling tile-like mount is designed to provide a convenient way to secure Cisco wireless access points in the ceiling. Many of the 106X series WAP mounts feature a unique, patented locking mechanism which draws the WAP part way into the mount, exposing only the antenna face of the WAP, for the ultimate in wireless coverage, aesthetics, and physical security.  The enclosure features textured, white powder-coated steel and aluminum construction.
