Hortonville’s Own Honored as 2014 Difference-Maker for Easter Seals Wisconsin

HORTONVILLE, Wis. - Oct. 20, 2014 - PRLog -- MADISON, WI--- The 2014 Easter Seals Wisconsin “Difference-Makers” were honored Tuesday evening at a Recognition Dinner in Madison. These individuals, groups and businesses have inspired others and made outstanding contributions to the disability community statewide and to Easter Seals Wisconsin throughout the years. This year’s recipient for Recognition of Outstanding Volunteer Award is Keith Posselt of Hortonville.

Keith, a livestock farmer, has spent the last seventeen years dedicating himself to giving back to an organization that assisted him in returning to farming after sustaining a spinal cord injury in an accident. His dedication to the organization has not only raised funds through the Calf Project to support Easter Seals FARM program, but encouraged other farmers who have experienced an accident or chronic illness to contact FARM so that they can remain in agriculture.

In addition to the Calf Project, Keith takes part in the Human Race each year in Appleton, raising money that provides disability-related equipment to families in the Fox Valley through the Easter Seals Disability HelpLine of Outagamie County.

About Easter Seals Wisconsin:  For more than 85 years, Easter Seals Wisconsin (www.EasterSealsWisconsin.com) has provided services that help children and adults with disabilities gain greater independence. Easter Seals primary services – vocational rehabilitation, respite services, camping and recreation, information and referral, and public education – benefit close to 10,000 individuals with disabilities and their families each year in Wisconsin.
