Toyota of Clermont sponsors the 2014 Turkey Trot 5K

ORLANDO, Fla. - Nov. 14, 2014 - PRLog -- Toyota of Clermont is proud to sponsor the 2014 Turkey Trot 5K for the third year in a row and support local non-profit organizations.

The Toyota of Clermont Turkey Trot is a 5K walk/run that acts as a fundraiser for the South Lake County Historical Society and Back to School is Cool. Both of these organizations are local non-profits that work within Lake County.

The South Lake Historical Society strives to preserve the history of Clermont. It has conserved original and replica buildings, including the Townsend House, Cooper Memorial Library, The Train Depot, and the Kern House. It is also the operator of the Clermont Historic Village.

Back to School is Cool Lake County concentrates on empowering under-privileged students with essential tools for educational success. It collects school supplies, clothing, uniforms, shoes and more to ensure these children have everything they need to go back to school.

The Toyota of Clermont Turkey Trot 5K walk/run will take place on November 22, 2014 at the South Lake Historical Society (490 West Ave, Clermont, FL 34711). The race will begin at 8:00 a.m. at the South Lake Trail.

Participants can register at the Toyota of Clermont Turkey Trot website (https://www.clermontturkeytrot.com) or mail in a registration form to the South Lake County Historical Society. Registration will also be open on the day of the event.

Registration is $25.00 per adult and $20.00 per child until November 15. The fee will be $30.00 starting November 16 and on the day of the event. All proceeds will go to the South Lake County Historical Society and Back to School is Cool Lake County.

Participants will be given a free commemorative T-shirt, a finisher’s medal, and free breakfast before and after the race.

Packet pickup will be on November 21 from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the South Lake County Historical Society and on the day of the race.

This is a family-friendly event and anyone is welcome to join to run or walk the race. Awards will be given to an overall winner and winners in the male and female age groups. There will also be games for kids and raffle prizes.
