Poland’s banking sector remained healthy in Q1-Q3 2014, with a good capitalization, stable margins and overall high lending quality. Also the accelerating banking volumes and permanent cost optimization, thanks to technological advances, contributed to strong performance of banks operating in Poland. Nevertheless, some foreign investors present in Poland have been considering market exit recently. Among others, General Electric Capital Corporation is looking for a buyer of its BPH bank and Raiffeisen is studying options of divestment in its Polish business Raiffeisen-Polbank.
