Follow on Google News | Bishop Joe Simon says: Police Brutality and Racism are Out of OrderAmerican Citizens Meet Prejudice and Poverty at the Crossroads
By: AFJM NEWS When we as black people talk about police brutality, misconduct, and racism against black people, the word racism strikes a strong nerve of denial among many white people. Understanding that racism still exists at this time, I would like to change the discussion from racism to the discussion of human rights and civil rights. When we change the discussion, I think many white people may listen and understand the plight of black people and conversation concerning how we are treated in America. Many white people and other races left Europe and other parts of the world because the system denied them of their human and civil rights. These immigrants could not wait to get to this land, this country called America. I am overwhelmed in belief and strongly convinced that racism, human and civil rights, hatred, and what it means to be prejudiced should all be talked about in churches, schools, and at the family dinner table, as well as at all levels of the government. Police disrespect of American citizens and disrespect of their human and civil rights is very detrimental and abusive. All of us are put here on this earth to be used, but none of us are put here on this earth to be abused. Malicious police misuse and abuse of power against American citizens must stop. Police and the American people should communicate, organize and work closely together for the good of the communities. http://www.bishopjoesimonministries.org End
