Congratulations to Uma Mehta on CBE from HCL Social Care

Jan. 13, 2015 - PRLog -- HCL Social Care would like to congratulate Uma Mehta for being named on the 2015 honours list. Ms Mehta, chief community services lawyer at Islington Borough Council, was made a CBE for services to children.

Mehta has been awarded this recognition due to the work she has done in leading the development of a national template to help children’s social workers prepare evidence for court, and her work in training for both social workers and judges on how to improve care proceeding in the wake of the Family Justice Review. HCL Social Care and their charity partner the Victoria Climbié Foundation had the pleasure of holding social worker training with Ms Mehta in August 2014 on essential courtroom skills for child protection social workers, which were a great success.

In an interview with Community Care, Ms Mehta said of the recognition, ‘I’m sincerely thankful and very humbled to be recognised with such an honour. I’m overwhelmed and hope to continue doing the work that I love for many years to come.’
