Kohl’s Department Stores to Donate $202,700 to Blythedale Children’s Hospital

Check Presentation in Support of Hospital's Nutrition Outreach Program - Eat Well, Be Well - to be held During Westchester Family Camp Expo

VALHALLA, N.Y. - Jan. 14, 2015 - PRLog -- (VALHALLA, NY – January 14, 2015) – On Sunday, January 18, 2015 at 2:30 p.m. at the Hackley School in Tarrytown, N.Y., Blythedale Children’s Hospital will receive a donation of $202,700 from Kohl’s Department stores in support of the Hospital’s highly successful nutrition outreach program, Eat Well, Be Well.

Eat Well, Be Well is an innovative outreach program designed to bring health and nutrition education to schools throughout Westchester and Putnam counties. Through this program, Blythedale nutritionists teach healthy eating habits to children by providing curricula, training and educational tools to school districts throughout the area. Kohl’s has donated more than $2.5 million to Blythedale Children’s Hospital since 2000.

The check presentation will be held during the Westchester Magazine Family Camp Expo (which takes place from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.), where approximately 25 camps and entertainers are expected to have representatives on hand. Dietitians from the Eat Well, Be Well program will be offering nutrition tips, and speaking about healthy camp foods and snacks.

"We are deeply grateful to Kohl’s for so generously providing us with the resources to reach more than 100,000 children since 2006 with vitally important messaging about nutrition,” said Blythedale President and CEO Larry Levine. "As obesity rates among children soar nationally, we are able to make a significant impact, thanks to Kohl’s, in the greater metropolitan region. They have set an important standard for community support.”
