WR4F To Address Produce Problems Among Low-Income Families

Will Rap 4 Food, Inc. will join Washington DC's Ward 7 and 8 communities at Anacostia Library to discuss the imbalance faced by low-income families when purchasing fresh produce.

WASHINGTON - Feb. 13, 2015 - PRLog -- Non-profit Will Rap 4 Food, Inc. will bring together  ward 7 and 8 residents along with several guest panelists to discuss the affordability and accessibility of fresh produce within their Washington DC neighborhoods.

The panel discussion will take place on Saturday, February 21, at Anacostia Library as part of the organization's "Who's a Washingtonian?" grant project Fresh Beets. Fresh Beets is a documentary examining disparities faced by low-income families in Washington DC, particularly wards 7 and 8, as it pertains to purchasing fresh produce.

Panelists will discuss various topics including purchasing trends and frequency, grocery store and farmer's market locations and current programs in place assisting these families with purchasing fresh produce. Additional solutions and implementation will also be addressed.

The "Who's a Washingtonian?" grants fund projects which unite two different demographics of Washingtonians together on a humanities related project to take place from November 1, 2014 – October 31, 2015.
