--- On Tuesday, October 25th Johnson Edman Advertising executed and hosted a grand opening reception for the National Community Reinvestment Coalition (NCRC) and the U.S. Department of Commerce’s Minority Business Development Agency (MBDA). The Ny-Manhattan Business Center (NYCMBC) is one of a nationwide network of over 40 centers designed to stimulate job creation and the growth of minority businesses. It is the third business center opened by NCRC, which also manages the Houston and Washington, DC centers.

NYCMBC utilizes strategic partnerships and diverse professional backgrounds to improve minority-owned companies’ performance and profitability. At Tuesday’s grand opening, the center celebrated partnerships with the New York City Department of Small Business Services, the Empire State Development Corporation and The Port Authority of New York and New Jersey.

The center’s growing client list includes some of the most recognized small minority and women owned firms in the NY/NJ region that operates across a range of industries including advertising, construction, information technology, energy, staffing and retail. The annual revenue of MBDA clients range from $1 million to more than $9 million annually.

“We’re pleased that we can bring to New York what we’ve been successful in providing minority entrepreneurs in Houston and Washington, D.C.: the tools they need to access capital and to sustain business growth,” said John Taylor, President and CEO of the NCRC.
