Summertime Doesn’t need to be TV Time for Teens! #campsoltaplin

AVENTURA, Fla. - March 20, 2015 - PRLog -- In its efforts to keep its long-standing record of being rated one of the best summer camps in Miami-Dade County for kids ages 2 ½ to 15, and address the popular trends of the city’s “Teens,” the Michael-Ann Russell JCC’s Camp Sol Taplin will offer exciting, fast-paced Extreme Adventure, Extreme J-CAT, Teen Travel, and Madatzim, and the ever-popular JCC Maccabi Games – all of which are programs designed specifically for today’s teenage campers. “Why stay at home and watch TV, when you can be part of the action,” commented Neal Buchholz, Camp Sol Taplin Director. We’re reshaping the day-camp scene with awesome activities, amazing long-distance trips, and thrilling adventures!”

Extreme Adventure will offer daily activities including kayaking, rock climbing, scuba & snorkeling, go carting and much more for tweens entering grades 5-7. Extreme Adventurers (session 1) will go on a 5-day/4-night “All Florida Theme Park Adventure,” and Session 2 campers will experience an Atlanta Road Trip Adventure! Teen Travel, for teens entering grades 7-9, campers in session 1 will take a 4-night/5-day cruise to the Caribbean, and during session 2 will go on a fantastic road trip to New Orleans! For the “Drama Kings & Queens, Extreme J-CAT participants will take a trip to NYC to brush up on their acting skills by seeing shows, and meeting professional producers and directors! The “Teen Scene” on campus is enhanced by activities such as gaming, music, fitness, nutrition workshops, community service projects, and more. For those teens entering grades 9 & 10, who are seeking community service hours while enjoying a summer camp experience, developing leadership skills, and a knowledge of working with children, the Madatzim Program is the perfect fit. As junior leaders, Madatzim campers develop counseloring skills through on-the-job training in addition to leadership development workshops with trained professionals. And last, but certainly not least, JCC Maccabi Games participants for teens ages 13-16, will experience fun, sportsmanship, and athletic competition in nearby Ft. Lauderdale as this world-famous Olympic-style event comes to South Florida.
