By: Akshaya Patra PRCI's Chanakya Award is to recognize the outstanding contribution made by institutions to the society at large. Akshaya Patra strives to address and fight issues like hunger and malnutrition in India, by implementing the mid-day meal scheme in the Government and Government aided Schools. Today Akshaya Patra's mid - day meal programme serves wholesome food to over 1.4 million children from 10,661 schools across 10 states in India. Bagging the prestigious awards, Mr Shridhar Venkat, CEO, The Akshaya Patra Foundation said, "We are honored to receive these awards from PRCI, these awards pave a path for our mission to feed 5 million children by 2020". The most coveted was the category of Annual report, which saw more than 100 entries from giant corporates like Coca Cola, Mahindra, HDFC and others. Eventually the highest honour Platinum award was bagged by Akshaya Patra Foundation for its Annual Report 2013 - 2014. PRCI also felicitated PR professionals with Hall of Fame awards and presented the Chanakya Awards for exemplary performance. During the two-day conclave that concluded on Saturday, communication professionals took part in panel discussions on media and PR ethics, CSR, financial inclusion, youth, technology and sexual harassment at workplace.
