Giving Day starts on Tuesday, May 5th and concludes 24 hours later on Wednesday, May 6th. HDSW is extremely honored and excited to be a part of this event. Giving Day is a Give Local Westchester & Putnam 24-hour online giving event designed to raise as much money as possible for local nonprofits in a single day. This community-wide event celebrates the spirit of giving and the collective effort it takes to strengthen our community by raising critical funds for local nonprofits. Executive Director Andrea Kocsis says, “We are so grateful to United Way for this opportunity to participate in the Give Local Giving Day. We thank all the folks who will donate to non-profits on this day - your generosity is helping to keep our communities healthy and strong – neighbors helping neighbors.” This event is open to the public. Anyone can make a secure donation ($10 minimum) on http://www.givelocalwp.org to one or more participating nonprofit(s) About HDSW Human Development Services of Westchester (HDSW) has been Creating Community for people in Westchester County since 1968, providing services to people throughout every corner of Westchester County. HDSW is also the designated Neighborhood Preservation Company for the Village of Port Chester with the goal of increasing and preserving affordable housing for Westchester residents. HDSW is a HUD-approved Housing Counseling Agency reaching out to low and moderate income households throughout Westchester. HDSW is the only bi-lingual Housing Counseling Agency in Westchester.
