Duffy’s Tavern to Battle Inner-City Gun Violence With the Chicago Police Athletic League

CHICAGO - April 14, 2015 - PRLog -- The Chicago Police Athletic League (PALs) has developed a new program, Gloves Not Guns, which will fund boxing gyms for troubled youth all over the Chicago area.  PALs will team up with Duffy’s Tavern & Grille in Lincoln Park to raise money and awareness for Gloves Not Guns.  The donated funds will be used to fund the new gyms and to buy equipment for the kids.

“We are very grateful to have the opportunity to support this new initiative at Duffy’s.  Gloves Not Guns is a great way to have a positive impact on the community and we are proud to host the event,” said Tom Jacobson, Duffy’s Manager.

The event will be on Thursday April 23^rd, 2015 from 7pm to 10pm.  Tickets for the event will be $40, of which $20 will be donated to Gloves Not Guns.  The ticket will include a 3-hour Goose Island beer dinner.  The dinner will consist of six, 5oz Goose Island beer samples that will be paired with six specialty items from the recently-revamped menu from Duffy’s Tavern, as well a raffle   This event is open to the public and include a silent auction with items from local businesses.
