Statement on the Tragedy in Charleston, SC

June 18, 2015 - PRLog -- Tobeka Green, President and CEO of the National Black Child Development Institute's statement on the hate crime committed in Charleston, South Carolina on June 18, 2015: “As our country awakened to the tragic news that nine of our brothers and sisters were killed in Charleston, South Carolina last night, I know that people of all faiths, cultures and communities bowed their heads in thought and prayer.

We grieve with the families and the congregation of Emanuel AME Church, and while our hearts are broken, our spirits are not.  We must, and we will, come together to fight hate and prejudice, to champion resilience and strength, to seek peace, and to ensure that all of our lives matter.”
