Dominion Investment Group Awards Business Scholarship to Local Student

PORT ST. LUCIE, Fla. - June 24, 2015 - PRLog -- Dominion Investment Group recently awarded one $1,000 business scholarship to a local Indian River State College student.  The award is intended to encourage area students to pursue college interests that might impact local business. Over the years Dominion has given away more than $50,000 in scholarship awards to local high school students who are pursing business related studies.  Dominion is proud to make this investment in our local youth who may someday become future business professionals and owners right in our community. We specifically look for students that may want to bring their skills back to the Treasure Coast.

This year’s recipient of the $1,000 scholarships is Lilliana Lozeau. Lilliana Lozeau is now a graduate of Port St. Lucie High School. While there, she was dual enrolled at Indian River State College’s where she earned over 36 credit hours. She was the Vice President of her class, Secretary of National Honor Society and co-captain of the junior varsity volleyball team all while working part-time and maintaining a 4.36 high school GPA. Her leadership experience is outstanding. In the fall, she will attend Indian River State College to pursue a Bachelor’s Degree in Business.

Each spring, Dominion Investment Group awards scholarship monies to local high school students that plan on attending Indian River State College. “As a proud business in St. Lucie County, we look forward to being able to assist the students in our community looking to advance and further their education,” said Dominion Investment Group Managing Partner, Daryl G. Bank.

Students may apply for the scholarship starting Oct. 1 through Jan. 31 through the IRSC “STARS” online scholarship application portal.

Dominion also participates in the quarterly “Shark Tank” style pitch panel events with the Entrepreneurship Development Institute at IRSC where local entrepreneurs pitch their business plans and products to local established business leaders.

“We enjoy having a local presence in our community, especially at IRSC. I feel that it is important to share my knowledge of venture capital and start-ups with today’s up and coming business leaders,” Bank said.
