Writers of the Future Volume 31 Tops Barnes & Noble Bookscan Chart

HOLLYWOOD, Calif. - June 24, 2015 - PRLog -- Writers of the Future Volume 31 hit #1 on the Barnes & Noble Bookscan chart on the Trade Paperback Overall and #1 on Adult Fiction Overall Science Fiction/Fantasy categories for sales week ending June 14, 2015 as listed by Bookscan, the premier book sales data provider for the book publishing industry.

Writers of the Future Volume 31, released in May, is a compilation of 13 top science fiction and fantasy short stories written by winners of the Writers of the Future Contest and illustrated by the 12 Illustrators of the Future Contest winners. In their starred review, Library Journal noted, “Speculative fiction fans will welcome this showcase of new talent and should not be surprised to see more work by many of these names in years to come.”

The Writers of the Future writing contest (www.writersofthefuture.com) was initiated by L. Ron Hubbard in 1983 to provide a means for aspiring writers to get that much-needed break. Due to the success of the Writing Contest, the companion Illustrators of the Future Contest was created in 1988.
