Hundreds of thousands of Liberian have died of malnutrition, waterborne disease and most recently the Ebola outbreak. The outbreak has left many thousands of children and relatives of these victims without basic shelter, food, clean water, clothing and education. The Bill Rogers Youth Foundation has a fundraising initiative to establish a Youth Development Center in Ben Town, Liberia to help develop athletic and scholarship worthy young Liberians who are motivated and prepared to attend college. The Center will offer educational opportunities to children in small communities discover and share their talents with the world through an environment that fosters self-sufficiency, understanding, respect, positive social interaction, and love for their community. Dubbed "Liberia's Angel" in the media, MacDella has dedicated her life to the children of Liberia through fundraising initiatives, providing scholarships, renovating orphanages, and building the MacDella Cooper Foundation (MCF) Academy. The gala will be hosted by Alese Underwood, on-air reporter for Time Warner Cable News and co-hosted by model Valentino Lucas. Special celebrity guests will include Mrs. Estephania Lebaron (Hollywood TV, Film and Video Producer) who serves on the advisory board for the National Association of Latin Leaders, and Mr. Andy Perkins. Community Hero awards will be given to Eric Wowoh, Andy Perkins, MacDella Cooper, Estephania Leboran, Trokon Glay, Alese Underwood, among others. The vision of the Bill Rogers Youth Foundation is to empower the youth and communities in Liberia to provide long lasting and practical solution to the various issues that they are faced with daily.
