NORFOLK, Va. - Aug. 3, 2015 - PRLog -- Tyler Layne (http://www.tylerlayneonline.com/) knows what feels like to be bullied. The teen pop artist and social media superstar has endured his share of online bullying since being discovered by Radio Disney at 10 years old. Now 19, the iHeartMedia radio personality from Hampton Roads, Virginia will share his personal experiences by performing at The One Voice Project’s (http://www.theonevoiceproject.com/) “Wipe Out Bullying” concerts as a featured artist.

Layne will co-headline three “Wipe Out Bullying” concerts held Monday, August 10 at The Academy of Hope (http://www.theacademyofhope.org/) charter school in Conway at 12:30 p.m. and at 7:00 p.m. at Pyler Park in Myrtle Beach. He will also perform Tuesday, August 11 at Broadway on the Beach at 5:00 p.m.

The One Voice Project is an organization providing young people with opportunities to make a difference through music. The three-hour ‘Wipe Out Bullying” concert shares a message of hope and unity. It features an all-girl pop, funk, and rock group called “Distraction (https://www.reverbnation.com/itsdistraction)” of West Virginia, and other artists. Fans who attend are encouraged to sign an anti-bully pledge. Free anti-bully bracelets will be available while supplies last

An advocate for anti-bullying efforts, Layne has participated in several tours and events to speak out against bullying.

“Being a musician who puts myself out there online, I've had to deal a lot with cyber bullying and hurtful comments,” said Layne. “Over the years, I've learned to ignore the haters and focus completely on the positive comments. I know what it feels like to feel less than or not good enough and I can totally relate to people who are bullied.”

According to some national statistics (http://www.stopbullying.gov/news/media/facts/#listing), 28% of U.S. students in grades 6–12 experienced bullying with 15% of high school students (grades 9–12) electronically bullied in the past year. More than half (55.2%) of all LGBT students have experienced cyberbullying. An astounding 95 percent of teens who witnessed bullying on social media report that others, like them, have ignored the behavior.

When not on stage, Layne can be heard on the leading media outlet in Norfolk, Va. as the youngest on-air radio personality at iHeartMedia’s NOW 105.3 (http://www.now105.com/main.html) FM.
