Children's Balloon Book Takes New Flight

NEW YORK - Aug. 21, 2015 - PRLog -- The birthday child of late summer or fall has a special dilemma---who will come to his or her party?   Summer friends have dispersed; meanwhile it's too early to be sure who the friends of this pre-school or early-grade year will be.   Or there may be a policy that asks  your son or daughter invite all in the class.

Where Do the Balloons Go?  by Elena Davis, with an award winning suite of water-colors by Anna Jurinich , has answers and solutions.   When this charming picture book was first published in hardcover just over a decade ago, it became a sort-of  "classic" for adults who believed that entertainments for young children (ages 4-9) should be infused with magic and sunlight.

So let the balloon fairies of its pages be among your child's party guests.   The fairies of Balloon Land---which floats in the highest clouds-- are male and female whimsies, with skins of varying tones, but this is visual magic, not a p.c. plot point.  In its outstanding pastel paintings, young readers also meet  the fairies' balloon pets--mice, giraffes and puppies---visit balloon residences and learn of fairy cuisine.

Where Do the Balloons Go?  has just become available as an e-book for only $4.99. At the Red Pebble division of Red Rock Press, we're just delighted at how well what the Cleveland Plain Dealer described as "a fantastic fable with lovely paintings'' works on screen.

The book's story opens up the fairy workshop where fly-away balloon go, and where  fairy knowhow turns ragged pieces of balloons snagged on trees into like-new balloons.  We don't want to give away the climax but it takes place at the birthday of the Balloon Fairy Queen whose guests  include tooth fairies, balloon fairies and their balloon pets.   This book is green lighted both as a birthday gift and read-aloud party story.

A very few $29.95 activity and party-favor BIRTHDAY PARTY in a BAG editions are still available (including pump, long balloons and balloon-animal blueprints along with a hardcover book  (only at sales@redrockpress.com).  The original  dust-jacketed book, however,  is also available, along with the ebook,  at Amazon.com and  BN.com.
