Dr. Lalit Surajmal Kanodia takes over as IACC National President

MUMBAI, India - Oct. 7, 2015 - PRLog -- Mumbai 7^th October 2015:  Dr. Lalit Surajmal Kanodia, Chairman Datamatics Global Services Limited has been elected as the National President, Indo-American Chamber of Commerce (IACC) for the year 2015-16. He was elected unanimously at the last Annual General Meeting of IACC held recently in Mumbai.

A highly acclaimed technocrat turned entrepreneur, Dr. Kanodia is the founder of Datamatics Limited. An alumnus of IIT, Mumbai (Mechanical Engineering), he   obtained MBA and Ph.D from MIT, USA.  He was a topper at MIT.

Importantly, Dr. Kanodia is the Founder CEO of TCS, which is today India’s most valuable company, with a market cap of over $80 billion. Under his stewardship, TCS made significant strides in consulting at a time when the concept of consulting was mostly unknown in the Indian business landscape.

“I am fortunate to take over as the national president of IACC at a time when profound transformations are happening in the economic partnership between India and the US. The two largest economies are closer than ever before. With the launch of Make in India, Digital India, Financial Inclusion schemes etc. synergies between the world’s two largest economies are at an all-time high. My efforts would be to facilitate  tapping these potentials in a systematic manner to bring together private sectors in both countries - small, medium and large, to work in tandem in areas like aerospace, civil aviation, defense, technology transfer and manufacturing, besides giving a strong impetus to bilateral trade,”  says Dr. Kanodia.

Dr. Kanodia is a Ford Foundation Fellow and   has received the Distinguished Alumnus Award of IIT, Mumbai. He is one of the 10 persons included in the Hall of Fame, published by Dataquest along with late Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi and late Mr. JRD Tata.   While in the US, he was Consultant to the Ford Motor Company and Arthur D. Little.  He has also taught at Jamnalal Bajaj and MIT.

Dr. Kanodia is closely connected with business associations in various capacities. He has served at the Past President of the Management Consultants’ Association of India and Chairman of the Electronic & Computer Software Export Promotion Council (Western Region).  He is a member of the Executive Committee of the Indian Merchants’ Chamber and Chairman of its IT Committee.  He has been a Member of the Executive Committee of Nasscom and also served on various Committees of the Government of India and the State of Maharashtra.

Dr. Kanodia is currently on the Executive Board of MIT (Europe, Asia and Africa).
