Presented by 4C Totally Light 2Go The Volley America National Championships returns to Clearwater Beach, FL October 24-25, 2015. The $10,000 beach volleyball tournament is presented by Spalding King of the Beach. Top male and female athletes from throughout the United States will compete for the $10,000 prize purse. Top male players include Eric Zaun of Cherry Hill, NJ and partner Chris Vaughn from Medford, NJ. Zaun and Vaughn recently took first place at the $8,000 Reflekt Polarized Big Shot Volleyball Championships in Atlantic City, NJ. Top female athletes competing at Nationals include Karolina Sowala of Port St. Lucie, FL and partner Kimberly Hildreth from St. Petersburg, FL. Sowala has played professionally on the FIVB tour for her home country, Poland. Karolina Sowala also won the Volley America Nationals in 2014 with partner Priscilla Piantidosi-Lima. Players from Sweden will be competing in the event as well. Over 80 players from Sweden will be in Clearwater as part of the Beach Travels volleyball vacation, where players get two weeks of practice, training and socializing before the big event on Oct. 24-25. Tournament play will start at 9 am with women’s finals scheduled for 4 pm Saturday and men’s finals at 12 noon on Sunday. Admission is free for all spectators. Separate divisions will be held for players of intermediate and novice levels on Saturday and Sunday.
