Sprenger Hospice and Clearview High School provide a night to remember for local patient

LORAIN, Ohio - Nov. 9, 2015 - PRLog -- Edward Lawko, patient of Sprenger Hospice, was treated to a trip down memory lane when Sprenger Hospice Social Worker Voni de Almeida arranged for him to not only attend the Clearview High School football game on Friday, Sept. 25th, but to also serve as the Clippers Honorary Captain.      Lawko, who was accompanied by his nephew Steve and his wife Suzette, were provided transportation to and from the game. Sprenger Hospice staff Almedia, Bambi Gross, Lisa Lotz, and Danny Parsons also greeted them with a gourmet tailgate prepared by Chefs Jim Smith and Brian Gonzales.      Before entering the game, Clearview High School Athletic Director and Clippers Head Coach, Mike Collier, and his coaching staff greeted the Lawko family, presenting Edward with a team jersey, helmet and signed T-shirt.     The crowd cheered for Lawko as he took to the field to fulfill his duty as Honorary Captain and participate in the coin toss.  There, he was greeted by his cousin, who was coincidentally the coach of the opposing team.      With the help of Sprenger Hospice, the football team and the Athletic Team at Clearview High School, Mr. Lawko was able to enjoy a favorite past-time, experience tailgating and create new memories with his family before recently passing away.     “These experiences, these memories of life we get to share, create and maintain with our patients and families is why we do what we do,” said Almedia. “Thank you to all who helped make this an amazing night for Mr. Lawko and his family!”     About Sprenger Health Care Systems Sprenger Health Care Systems has been family owned and operated since 1959.
