Follow on Google News | Sprenger Health Care Systems and Clearview High School spread holiday cheer with Thanksgiving mealsWith the help of Sprenger Health Care Systems, Clearview High School donated 45 Thanksgiving meals to local families in need.
"The staff and students at Clearview High School do a fantastic job each year organizing this food drive," states Amy Sanfilippo-Steadman, Sprenger's Corporate Acquisitions Director. "We are honored to be involved in the effort and contribute to our shared community." Each year, Clearview's Student Council organizes a local food drive to raise donations for families in need within the Clearview Local School District. The donated items are arranged to treat selected families to a traditional Thanksgiving dinner. For the eighth consecutive year, Sprenger Health Care Systems has contributed a monetary donation to help provide turkey and other seasonal food items for deserving families to enjoy during this special holiday. This season, 45 families will benefit from Clearview's annual food drive; a significant increase from the 12 meals donated during the food drive's inception more than 25 years ago. "Clearview could not service the number of families we are able to without the generous donations from Sprenger Health Care Systems and the Clearview School students, faculty and staff." states George Wachowiak, Clearview High School Student Council Co-advisor. Donated meals are personally delivered by volunteers, consisting of school board members, teachers, administrators and school principals. Each meal delivery provides a 20 lb. turkey, one bag of potatoes, pumpkin pie, stuffing, gravy and various canned foods. Clearview Student Council, led by co-advisors George Wachowiak and Marie Ternes, work in conjunction with Clearview High School, Durling Middle School and Vincent Middle School to make this food drive a success. Sprenger Health Care Systems is proud to contribute to this commendable cause and support our local community.
