Application Deadline for The Meadows School Founders’ Scholarship is Jan. 4, 2016

LAS VEGAS - Nov. 9, 2015 - PRLog -- The application deadline for The Meadows School (http://www.themeadowsschool.org) (TMS) Founders’ Scholarship, a four-year need-based scholarship that covers a portion of a student’s tuition to TMS Upper School, is 4 p.m. on Monday, Jan. 4, 2016. The scholarship is intended for students who have impressive academic qualifications and have engaged in extracurricular activities. Applicants must be an 8th grade student not currently enrolled at TMS and must have completed Algebra 1 by the time they start 9^th grade. To be considered, students must complete the school’s online application and family statement, as well as submit the necessary recommendation and transcript forms, a copy of the student’s most recent report card, a recommendation from an extracurricular teacher or coach, and a 300-word personal essay. TMS will contact the 20 finalists who will continue the admission process, which involves testing and interviews, prior to the testing date on Saturday, Jan. 9, 2016. The five scholarship recipients will be announced Feb. 1, 2016.

He notes that the scholarship is made possible through TMS’ partnership with a major donor.

“In the last five years, The Meadows School has given out more than $7 million in scholarships proving that we are dedicated to helping to bridge the gap of inequality in education in Nevada, which is essential for the growth of our community,” added Gregersen.

All students interested in joining the upper school at TMS can attend the “Meet the Mustangs” open house event on Wednesday, Nov.19, 2015 on the TMS campus. The free event, intended for prospective upper school students and their parents, begins at 9:00 a.m. Prospective 9th grade families will tour the campus, meet students and teachers, and attend sample classes that showcase TMS’ academics, art programs, student clubs, and athletics.
