Follow on Google News | CASIO unveils top-of-the line MR-G series G-SHOCKCasio Computer Co., Ltd., recently announced the latest addition to the flagship MR-G Series in the G-SHOCK line of shock-resistant watches
By: BIZCOM The new G-SHOCK MRG-G1000RT features recrystallized Ti64 alloy** to express the quality of 'nie pattern' * that is one of the traditional techniques represented in Japanese swords. This extra-special top of the line model is produced in a limited edition of only 100 watches. The new G-SHOCK MRG-G1000RT watch inherits the features of the model it is based on, the MRG-G1000—an advanced timekeeping system that receives both Global Positioning System (GPS) and radio wave time-calibration signals and offers Dual Dial World Time, which simultaneously displays the time in two different cities. The design of the MRG-G1000RT is developed under the theme of “Made in Japan,” to express the proud origins of G-SHOCK as a Japanese brand. Inspired by the nie pattern that is characteristic of Japanese swords and represents the heights of Japanese craftsmanship, the bezel and metal plate are made from Ti64 alloy hardened by a recrystallization process. This process gives the bezel and metal plate a rich finish that reflects tastefully in the light. The MRG-G1000RT features a deep “Japan blue” DLC coating that subtly changes expression depending on the viewing angle, giving the watch a mature and attractive hue. True to its “Made in Japan” roots, the watch incorporates other styling features inspired by the hues of Japanese traditional craftsmanship such as metal engraving, with gold-coloured front screws and index marks in the watch face. ** A nie pattern is a crystal structure on the blade surface that is characterized by a grain pattern * Ti64 is a type of alloy made from 90% titanium, 6% aluminum, and 4% vanadium.
