2015 Jerry Tarkanian Classic Recap

LAS VEGAS - Dec. 30, 2015 - PRLog -- Winter's top high school hoops tournament named after renowned UNLV Coach Jerry Tarkanian had yet another successful run in 2015!

Earlier this month 80 of the best Boys, Girls, and Prep High School basketball teams gathered in Vegas to compete for the coveted title in each respected division, and there was no disappointment!

The Platinum Division came down to the final seconds between both nationally ranked teams Overland High and Bishop Gorman. Overland edged out the Gaels 58-56 to become champions despite a valiant effort from Gonzaga Signee Zach Collins of BG.

Other division champions include; Cathedral Catholic (Select Division), Cheyenne, NV (Premier Division), and Redemption Christian (Gold Division).

The Prep School Division was loaded with talent including teams Findlay Prep, Hillcrest Prep, Advanced Prep International, and more. Top players from the Prep Division included Deandre Ayton, PJ Washington, Billy Preston, etc. Locals Findlay Prep went undefeated at the Tarkanian Classic.

In the first year with a Girls Division; host school Bishop Gorman Lady Gaels took home the championship in a close final with Campbell County High.

All in all; it was a great 5 days of competitive basketball in the city which drew in lots of fans as well as college coaches and media members.

High profile college teams present included Shaka Smart of Texas, Dave Rice of UNLV, UCLA, Gonzaga, and more.
