L.A. Wolves FC Draw San Nicolas FC in Third Round Qualifying for 2016 U.S. Open Cup

TORRANCE, Calif. - Jan. 9, 2016 - PRLog -- January 9, 2016 – Torrance, CA – After losing to San Nicolas FC 2-0 in the 2015 UPSL Championship game, the L.A. Wolves will get a chance at revenge in the third round of 2016 U.S. Open Cup qualifying. Despite dominating play throughout much of the UPSL season, the Wolves were upset 2-0 by a talented and experienced club in San Nicolas FC in December.

The two teams will face each other on April 2, 2016 with a 7:30 PM kickoff at the Toyota Sports Complex in what is expected to be an exciting battle between two top UPSL squads. The Winner will move on to the First Round of the 2016 U.S. Open Cup and winner will go home.

L.A. Wolves President/GM Yan Skwara said, “The game couldn’t come at a better time for the L.A. Wolves with the New Year kicking in terms of having a goal to shoot for. The team is rested from the holidays and excited to prepare for this important Cup match which will be here soon enough. Not only is this a chance to compete in the Prestigious U.S. Open Cup alongside our country’s top professional and amateur clubs, but also an opportunity to redeem ourselves for the tough loss we had in the UPSL Championship match versus the same team. We respect San Nicholas FC, as they are a very good squad, but at the same time, we know who we are and we look forward to the match.

Though it has been a long road to get to this point, both teams deserve to be where they are. You don’t get this far in a tournament of this magnitude if you aren’t a solid team. Both clubs have shown that they can compete with the best over the course of the past year.

L.A. Wolves FC are an American amateur soccer (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Association_football) club based in Torrance, California.
