Early Learning Coalition of Southwest Florida Adds Two New Board Members

FORT MYERS, Fla. - Jan. 13, 2016 - PRLog -- The Early Learning Coalition of Southwest Florida (ELC) welcomes two new members to its board of directors, Katie Haas and Douglas Szabo. Both Haas and Szabo bring a wealth of experience and a dedication to promoting opportunities for children and families in the region.

Katie Haas is the senior director of Florida operations for the Boston Red Sox. She is a board member of the Lee County Public Schools Foundation and oversees the Red Sox Foundation in Southwest Florida.

Douglas Szabo is an attorney with the Henderson Franklin law firm. He also sits on the board of the Children’s Advocacy Center. Szabo says, “I have been fortunate to work with a lot of fine organizations over the years. To me, there is nothing more important than our children and their education. This board exemplifies that important work.”

ELC Board President Gerald Poppe adds, “I look forward to having both Katie and Douglas join our board. Our coalition strives to bring a diverse mix of background experiences from the public sector to further our mission in serving Southwest Florida’s children through quality educational programs.
