Calling all Cooks! Alpenrose Dairy to hold social media recipe contest

PORTLAND, Ore. - Jan. 18, 2016 - PRLog -- Great food and great company are the stuff that holidays are made of, but after the new year begins those post-holiday pounds can really put a damper on your cheer. In an effort to combat the fruits of your feasting, Alpenrose Dairy is sponsoring a low-calorie recipe contest on social media that will encourage people to submit healthy recipes inspired by their Lite n’ Trim line of dairy products.

Those who want to participate can do so by posting a recipe that uses a low-calorie substitute such as Alpenrose Dairy Lite n’ Trim sour cream, along with an original photo of the finished dish. Social media users can vote for their favorites by liking or retweeting them, and the top five entries with the most votes will win a new custom gold iPad Air 2 with Alpenrose 100th anniversary logo!

“Cooking, baking and sharing recipes is a holiday tradition for many,” said Tracey Cadonau McKinnon, a fifth generation Alpenrose dairy farmer. “So why not carry that tradition into the new year in a way that works with people’s new year’s resolutions?”

Alpenrose Dairy’s Lite Bites social media recipe contest will begin on January 18 and run through February 29. Contestants can post their recipes to one or any combination of Instagram, Facebook and Twitter using the hashtag #LiteBites.

The contest is open to legal residents of the U.S. who are 18 years or older at time of entry or minors with parent/guardian consent. Employees of Alpenrose Dairy and their immediate families are not eligible.
