Thirty years of old-world hospitality: Bavarian Inn Lodge celebrating milestone anniversary

Feb. 10, 2016 - PRLog -- Since first opening its doors to guests in 1986, the Bavarian Inn Lodge has been wishing a hearty “willikommen” to hundreds of thousands of visitors to Frankenmuth – one of Michigan’s top tourist destinations. Today, Feb 10 and continuing throughout the year, the lodge, together with its 350 employees, is observing its 30^th anniversary of providing old-world hospitality in a fun and family-friendly atmosphere.

Since its opening, the lodge has embarked on and completed seven major property project investments totaling more than $40 million, with the latest, a $400,000 upgrade to 55-inch HDTV receivers in all of its guest rooms. Starting out with 100 guest rooms in 1986, the lodge now encompasses 360 European-themed guest rooms, including whirlpool and family suites. A single swimming pool back in 1986 (which is now reserved for adults guests only) has grown to become one of Michigan’s largest indoor water park hotels with the expansive Family Fun Center, housing two dramatic waterslides, three pools and two whirlpools.

The expanded Family Fun Center includes 150 video and redemption games, a two-story children’s play village and a recently redesigned Willy’s Kingdom indoor mini-golf course.

Over the years, the Bavarian Inn Lodge added two lounges and two restaurants (decorated with authentic German woodcarvings) to provide guests a variety of dining and entertainment options.
