Operator fatigue is significantly reduced and the square configuration makes it simple to move into corners, along walls or into tight areas. The fixed wheels allow for stable grinding and polishing along walls without risk of damage due to a lack of rocking of the machine because it does not have the spinning momentum of a planetary turntable. The lack of turntable momentum also protects the machine from damage when metal objects protruding from the floor are accidentally encountered. This new, six head, counter-rotating floor grinding and polishing machine is very easy to use because it floats allowing forward and reverse as well as sideways movement without torque transfer to the operator. Three heads across the front of the machine spin in a clockwise direction and are offset so that they overlap slightly. The three following heads run in a counter-clockwise direction resulting in a cross-cut action without having to change the machine direction. This also causes a floating action so that the floor grinding and polishing machine can be easily moved in any direction. The fixed wheels allow for stable grinding and polishing along walls without risk of damage due to a lack of rocking of the machine because it does not have the spinning momentum of a planetary turntable. Operator fatigue is significantly reduced and the square configuration makes it easy to position into corners, along walls or behind doors. The lack of turntable momentum also protects the machine from damage when metal objects protruding from the floor are accidentally encountered. Slow and laborious hand grinding of inaccessible areas is avoided due to the multi articulating handle which can change position rapidly helps the operator to maneuver the machine into tight spaces with little effort. Fixed heads have an advantage over planetary heads because they require a smaller cutting path overlap due to the uniform cutting action of the wheels on the outside. This saves considerable time and grinds and polishes the floor more evenly. The weight of the machine can be minimised for loading into and out of the work vehicle by removing four bolts with a power drill. The handles and motor instantly release from the base of the floor grinding and polishing machine so the base can easily be loaded separately to the motor. The handles also separate from the motor to split the machine into three manageable pieces which does away with hydraulic lifting equipment, long ramps and winch cables. Additional weights can be placed on the machine using the weight holding tubes with safety caps to prevent the weights from falling off. Large Olympic weights which are available all over the world are used to add grinding pressure to the heads for a deeper cut and faster results on hard concrete. Where the weight of the machine needs to be minimises such as when buffing the polished concrete floor or when grinding soft rain damaged concrete the weights can be removed from the grinder and placed on the handle as a counter-balance to remove pressure on the heads.
