New Site Streams Contractor Images Of Polished Concrete Finishes To Help You Decide

Polished concrete finishes vary from plain grey to spectacular colours and patterns and even in their gloss level which makes it hard to decide which one you like the most unless you can view all the finishes together.

CAMBERWELL, Australia - March 7, 2016 - PRLog -- Deciding on which polished concrete finishes you like best is difficult because showrooms do not exist to display the many variations although there are some that show a limited range so Concrete Grinder Sales have linked to the facebook feeds of many polished concrete contractors and categorised the images into the most common variations for you - Polished Cream, Polished Salt & Pepper and Polished Exposed Aggregate. There are also sections for outdoors and for benchtops and features.

As you can gather the main differences with polished concrete finishes is the size of the aggregate that is exposed from no aggregate exposed (Cream) to a small amount of aggregate exposure (Salt & Pepper) and finally to fully exposed aggregate.

Many of the images are excellent photographs of finished premises including bars, cafes and homes and they show the different shades of grey or white and how the coloured aggregates look in contrast. Others are uncluttered views of premises under construction or before and after views of laying and finished benchtops. They present ideas that you can use to mix and match your premises or home and its fittings and furnishings.

Having all the polished concrete finishes categorised makes it easier to compare between the different shades and finishes. You can compare all the fully exposed aggregates in white concrete and in grey as well as with colored stains, or compare all the Salt and Pepper jobs to see the differences of tiny aggregate exposure to small sand exposure or small aggregate exposure. Cream polishing is particularly enhanced with the use of stains and can be very interesting, but there are still more variations.

Gloss levels vary from very high in gloss with a very fine polish to 3,000 grit diamonds or you can have a lower shine by stopping at 800 grit or for a lower sheen you can have a 400 grit finish. Obviously 1500 grit shine is between 800 and 3,000. Slip resistance is lower the higher the shine, however there are penetrating finishing products that can render a shiny floor anti slip both wet and dry. Dust is probably the biggest enemy because the highest shine will show it more readily so 800 grit finish seems to satisfy most home owners.

The depth of gloss is definitely better at the higher grit finishes, but this can also be enhanced by buffing the finishing sealers at lower grit levels which will make an 800 grit floor shine almost as beautifully as a 3,000 grit floor. The finishing sealers are penetrating so they fill in the microscopic pores without leaving a film on top.

The polished concrete finishes page is updated every few days so there is always the latest collection of contractor's images and you can see by the number of posts which one is doing the most work. It is a wonderful site for comparing and getting ideas and from those you can actually have your own concrete laid in your colors with the aggregates of your choice.
