SARASOTA, Fla. - Feb. 18, 2016 - PRLog -- Multiple pieces from the collection of cosmetics icon Helena Rubinstein will be sold at auction.

Helena Rubinstein (1872-1965) was a cosmetics entrepreneur at a time when women could not even obtain bank loans. She founded the Helena Rubinstein Incorporated cosmetic company, which made her one of the world's richest women of her time. Although she took bag lunches to work and was very frugal, she bought top-fashion clothing and valuable fine art and furniture. A lover of fine arts, she founded the Helena Rubinstein Pavilion of Contemporary Art in Tel Aviv. Identifiable pieces from her collection include a chandelier, Venetian painting mirror and an armoire with her initials.

The February 27 auction will also feature the next wave of the Asian and Continental collection formerly housed in the Chateau L'Hesperit in Montravel, France.

The auction is open to the public. Beer, wine and refreshments will be served, with catering by Tsunami Sushi. A buyer's premium applies. Preview the collections Monday through Friday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Saturday before the auction from 10 a.m. to noon, or view the online catalog at sarasotaestateauction.com.
