African-American female IFAF Referee in first ever Women’s World Football Championship Games

NEW ORLEANS - March 3, 2016 - PRLog -- Crystal Nichols, the first African-American IFAF referee will participate in the IFAF World football Championship game in New Orleans.  In 2013 Crystal become the First American Woman to officiate an (IFAF) International Federation American Football men’s game in Helsinki Finland.  The Maple Football Leagues is the highest level of men Pro-Football in Finland. This was an elimination game shown on Live TV July 7^th, Nichols served as Headline Judge. In 2010 Crystal worked the Women’s World Championships in Stockholm, Sweden.On June 10^th 2014 Crystal was given the recognition of Special Individuals & Longevity in Athletics for the CIF Los Angele.  For having a significant impact on the athletic program in the California Football Officials Association.  She has hosted 6 Football Clinics (Angel 3) in Memory of her 3 mentors Cal Burt, Mel Patterson and Royce Cooly. “ I am appreciative of this opportunity and look forward to reaching back to help others along the way” says Nichols

On July 9^th 2014 The NFL Football Academy chose Crystal to be a part of their staff as an instructor and recruit officials. Crystal participated as an official for the IWFL Football games. She also presented on behalf of the NFL to recruit officials for the Wounded Warrior Project in Camp Pendelton. She is recognized as a Female Pioneer official.   The games begin on Sunday, March 6, 2016 and will be played at the practice facilities of the New Orleans Saints. This is the first time the games have been played on US soil.
