Save Our Cemeteries To Clean-up Lafayette Cemetery #1

NEW ORLEANS - March 9, 2016 - PRLog -- Save Our Cemeteries announced today that it will be partnering with the Industrial Asset Management Council (IAMC) to perform a clean-up of New Orleans’ historic Lafayette Cemetery No. 1 on Saturday, March 12^th, 2016 from 8:30 am to 1 pm. The IMAC will be providing 50 volunteers to help Save Our Cemeteries complete a general clean-up of the cemetery grounds, including the removal of vegetation from tombs, which SOC started last weekend. SOC started the Lafayette Cemetery No. 1 clean-up project on  March 5^th, with help from Bayou Preservation LLC and students from the Tulane University TIDES Program.

Ms. Walker continues, “And we would like to thank the IAMC, Bayou Preservation LLC and the Tulane University TIDES Program for their help with our efforts to keep Lafayette Cemetery No. 1 beautiful.”

Lafayette Cemetery No. 1 is located at 1416-1498 Washington Ave in New Orleans, LA, in the heart of the Garden District, between Washington, Sixth, Prytania, and Coliseum streets. Lafayette Cemetery No. 1 is the oldest of the seven municipal, city-operated cemeteries in New Orleans.
