As the keynote speaker, Graham will share her personal insight and lessons learned as the youngest daughter of Billy Graham, one of the most influential evangelists of the 20th century. "We are very excited to welcome Ms. Graham to South Jersey and are looking forward to a candid and uplifting message that will reflect on the legacy of her father as a leading Christian figure of our time," said Chief School Administrator Karen Oblen. Graham, who is an accomplished speaker, author, and Bible teacher, is not shy about talking honestly and forthrightly about her family. In a recent blog from her website she wrote: "We do not sit around praying and reading our Bibles all day. We don't wear halos. We are really rather ordinary but have an extraordinary relative. That does not make us special - it just makes us different," Graham wrote. "Daddy is extraordinary because he has followed God's call on his life in a single-focused way. Everybody has that opportunity. Most of us slip along the way - I sure did. But my father gave me extraordinary grace." Graham continued: "To each one who has slipped, he gives grace. We have had divorces, affairs, unwed pregnancies, drug abuse, jail time…not a pretty picture except that God's outrageous grace has been our comfort and His faithfulness our security." Graham is the author of eight books including the best-selling In Every Pew Sits a Broken Heart, the award-winning Step Into the Bible, and Fear Not Tomorrow, God is Already There: Trusting Him in Uncertain Times, which will be available for purchase at the Gala. Graham, a Cum Laude graduate of Mary Baldwin College, also worked for 13 years as an acquisitions editor for HarperCollins and for 5 years as donor relations coordinator for Samaritan's' Purse. The Legacy Gala is Atlantic Christian's annual fund-raising dinner where a cross-section of families, local business owners, church leaders, and friends in the community come together to support the benefits of Christian education. An appetizer reception and silent auction will begin at 5:00 p.m. and the dinner and program will get underway at 6:30 p.m. Tickets are $125 per person, $225 for a couple, and $1,000 for a table of 10. Tickets can be purchased at acseht.org or by calling the school at 609-653-1199. Atlantic Christian School, founded in 197, is a private, non-denominational regional school in Egg Harbor Township that educates children from 6 months to the 12th grade.
