Follow on Google News | ![]() Fuse Literary Promotes Tricia Skinner to Associate AgentPartner Laurie McLean recognized Tricia's potential right away. "Tricia has that awesome blend of intelligence, hard work ethic, creativity, and love of publishing. I knew that she would easily make the transition to being a literary agent, and her first 10-book deal proved me right." Raised in Detroit, Tricia obtained her undergraduate degree from the nationally acclaimed Journalism Institute for Media Diversity at Wayne State University. She earned her graduate degree from Southern Methodist University. Professionally, she began her writing career as a newspaper reporter and wrote for The Detroit News, Investor's Business Daily, MSN, and The Houston Chronicle. She's covered small & minority business, personal finance, and technology. Prior to agenting, Tricia spent 20 years in the video game industry in public relations, industry relations, and writing/editing. She is also a hybrid author of passionate urban fantasy (represented by Fuse co-founder Laurie McLean). "Coming from the perspective of a published author, who is a true hybrid author with books published both traditionally and indie, I have an affinity for the ideal Fuse client because they are just like me," Skinner said. "Plus my deep background in video games is turning out to be very useful as Fuse explores the expansion of storytelling into other avenues outside of books." As an agent, Tricia is primarily seeking romance fiction, especially in the subgenres of science fiction, futuristic, fantasy, military/special ops, paranormal, and medieval historical. She is also seeking videogame stories, urban fantasy, and YA that is edgy and dark.
