Her promotion today is reflective of her success not only with books but with dramatic rights and alternative methods of storytelling." With a master's degree in library and information science from the University of Pittsburgh and professional certificates in publishing from New York's Columbia University and editing from the University of California, Berkeley, Ms. Webber started her career at Writers House and the Jane Rotrosen Agency in New York City. Her experience as a youth librarian and a copyeditor for Yen Press, a division of Hachette Book Group, rounds out her impressive resume. She belongs to the American Copy Editors Society and Bay Area Editors' Forum, and she considers herself to be an editorial agent. Carlisle says, "I've always approached agenting with the attitude that I represent authors, not books. When I look for clients, I want people I can work with for their entire careers in whatever creative writing format finds them. There are many publication opportunities available to writers these days, and I want to help them find as many as possible." As an agent, Carlisle primarily seeks commercial adult fiction as well as high-concept middle grade and young adult manuscripts.
