By: NYQ Books The channel currently features recordings by 41 contributors to Rabbit Ears. These poets each read their contribution to the anthology. "In light of the theme of Rabbit Ears, creating our own TV channel on YouTube made sense," said Joel Allegretti, anthology editor. "The poets who contributed recordings showed incredible enthusiasm for the project. A few made mini-movies." The Rabbit Ears TV channel reflects the wide range of subjects covered in Rabbit Ears, Allegretti said. The channel has recordings of poems about the invention of TV, Miss America, Gilligan's Island, True Blood, the news, The X-Files, and even the patron saint of television, Clare of Assisi. "Rabbit Ears TV, like the anthology, has the variety of TV itself," Allegretti said. The URL is www.youtube.com/ Released in December by NYQ Books, Rabbit Ears: TV Poems explores a medium that has influenced America's language, politics, opinions, tastes, and lifestyles. The poems explore the history and early days of TV, sit-coms, cop shows, children's programming, science fiction and horror shows, soap operas, iconic TV personalities, and commercials, among other subjects. The anthology title was suggested by former U.S. Poet Laureate Billy Collins. Rabbit Ears: TV Poems is in the Fales Collection at New York University and in the archives of the University of Rochester, Ohio State University, and SUNY Buffalo. All author royalties earned on sales of Rabbit Ears will be donated to City Harvest, a New York-based food-rescue organization. Follow Rabbit Ears on Twitter @RabbitEarsPoems.
