This year's impressive lineup of dynamic and accomplished keynote speakers includes Artika Tyner, Esq., M.P.P., Ed.D.,Assistant Professor of Public Policy and Leadership andAssociate Vice President of Diversity and Inclusion,University of St. Thomas (Saint Paul, Minnesota); Ruqaiijah Yearby, Esq., M.P.H., Associate Dean of Institutional Diversity and Inclusiveness and Professor of Law, Case Western Reserve University School of Law (Cleveland, Ohio); Charles Hamilton Houston III, Esq., Assistant General Counsel for Global Compliance and Enterprise Risk Management (International) Spirited and influential special guest speakers scheduled to participate include Danielle Holley-Walker, Esq., Dean and Professor of Law, Howard University School of Law; Tina Matsuoka, Esq.,Executive Director, National Asian Pacific American Bar Association; There are also numerous noteworthy special guests, panelists, presenters, moderators and advisors who will participate with the common focus of imparting wisdom and inspiring attendees. Aspiring lawyers will be given concrete advice, tools and strategies to succeed despite the additional challenges they will face as diverse law students. Diversity leadership training will be offered through Diversity Pre-Law Talks™, an innovative signature event featuring powerful, short talks given by experienced and rising diversity thought leaders. These talks will provide unique and compelling perspectives on diversity issues around law school and the legal profession covering topics such as cultural competence, diversity and inclusion, implicit bias, leadership, service and social justice. In addition, participants can take part in the Law School Recruitment and Diversity Resources Fair featuring law schools, employers, diverse law student and lawyer organizations, and academic preparation and support organizations. Further, attendees will receive special perks such as book giveaways and special discounts for LSAT courses and law school preparation programs. Finally, pre-law students can have their personal statements, diversity statements and resumes reviewed and receive one-on-one or small group advisement from current law students and lawyers on both days.
