GreenLeaf Needs Community To Get Out The Vote For Their Seeds Of Change Grant Application

Local Nonprofit Vying to Win One of Several $20,000 and $10,000 Grants from the Certified Organic Seed and Food Company

DENVER - March 31, 2016 - PRLog -- GreenLeaf, a nonprofit youth leadership development and urban agriculture program located in Denver, has entered the Seeds of Change Grant Program for an opportunity to win either a $20,000 or $10,000 grant and is asking the community to vote for their application. The Grant Program aims to enhance the environmental, economic and social well-being of gardens, farms and communities. The grants will be awarded to organizations that help support sustainable, community-based gardening and farming programs that focus on teaching people about the food they eat and how it's grown.

Earlier this month, the Seeds of Change Grant Program accepted hundreds of applications from organizations and schools across the country. GreenLeaf seeks funding from this program to help build a new youth-led farm at the historic Smiley Campus in Denver's Park Hill neighborhood and expand their programming to engage more youth and distribute healthy, affordable produce to low-income residents. From now through April 18, the community can vote for GreenLeaf by visiting the Seeds of Change website www.seedsofchangegrant.com, searching for GreenLeaf, and voting once per day. After voting closes on April 18, the top 50 organizations with the most votes will move on to the final judging phase. Around May 3, Seeds of Change® will announce 24 grant recipients: 12 school garden recipients and 12 community garden recipients. Of these grant recipients, (2) two school gardens and two (2) community gardens will receive $20,000 and ten (10) school gardens and ten (10) community gardens will receive $10,000.
