Safeguard Self Storage Purchases Land for New Facility in East Rockaway, New York

OCEANSIDE, N.Y. - April 11, 2016 - PRLog -- Safeguard Self Storage has announced the purchase, on March 29^th, 2016, of a land parcel to build a self-storage facility on Ocean Avenue in East Rockaway, New York. This store will be the 76^th for the company nationally when completed and the 26^th in the New York metropolitan area. The East Tremont and Massapequa developments, which will be the company's 24^th and 25^th stores in New York, are under construction and slated to open this summer.

"The New York metropolitan market is the most important market for Safeguard and this purchase will build on the company's efforts to capitalize on its critical mass there," said Jim Goonan, Safeguard's Senior Vice President of Development. "We have been building in New York for well over a decade."

The 52,400 leasable square-foot facility will provide 681 storage units in various sizes. Amenities at this location will include heating/air conditioning, drive-up loading area, computer-controlled building access and digital/video recording of the property. As with our other recent developments on Long Island, the facade of the store will communicate the company's brand and logo boldly while being designed to blend in with the surrounding neighborhood.
